I like the sky in the summer night,especially in my hometown,because it's very beautiful. In the summer night, the sky is clear and bright, so that we can see many stars twinkling.

I have many hobbies, such as playing computer games, reading comics, going shopping. I also like playing pingpong very much.
I have a friend. His name is Nick. He is crazy about playing pingpong, too. If we have free time, we often play pingpong together. One summer holiday, he took me to a sports centre. Personally, this winter holiday was quite different. Because of COVID-19, Ihad to study at home and take online classes. As a result, I found I was able tolearn by myself. I also helped my parents with housework like cooking. And Ilearned how to cook well. Last but not least, I had more time to communicatewith my parents. Therefore I learned to get on better with them.
What I learned during this holiday will surely influence my future life. Iwill be more self-controlled and independent. And I am sure I will facedifficulties and challenges more bravely.

Some people like to eat out at food stands and restaurants, while others like to prepare food at home. Often it depends on the kind of lifestyle people have. Those with very busy jobs outside the house don’t always have time to cook. They like the convenience of eating out. Overall, though, it is cheaper and healthier to eat at home. While eating in restaurants is fast, the money you spendcan add up. When I have dinner at restaurant with a friend, the bill is usually over twenty dollars. I can buy a lot of groceries with that much money. Even lunch at a fast-food stand usually costs five or six dollars for one person. That’s enough to feed the whole family at home.
Eating at home is better for you, too. Meals at restaurants are often high in fat and calories, and they serve big plates of food--much more food than you need to eat at one meal. If you cook food at home, you have more control over the ingredients. You can use margarine instead of butter on your potatoes, or not put so much cheese on top of your pizza. At home, you can control your portion size. You can serve yourself as little as you want. In a restaurant, you may eat a full plate of food xxxbecause you paid for itxxx. It’s true that eating out is convenient. You don’t have to shop, or cook, or clean up. But real home cooking doesn’t have to take a lot of time. There are lots of simple meals that don’t take long to make. In fact, they’re faster than eating out, especially if you think of the time you spenddriving to a restaurant, parking, waiting for a table, waiting for service, and driving home.
Both eating at restaurants and cooking at home can be satisfying. Both can taste good and be enjoyed with family and friends. I prefer cooking at home because of the money and health issues, but people will make the choice that fits their lifestyle best.
When I was very small, I stayed in the hometown with my grandparents. I had the great time there, I liked the environment so much.
There was a long river in front of my house, the water was very clean, I could see the small fish swim.
My grandma usually washed her clothes along the river side. But now when I went back to my hometown, the river was very dirty, the water was light yellow and there were so many rubbish floating in the river.

This holiday my sister and I went to Shanghai. My sister had just graduated and she wanted to find a job in Shanghai. My uncle lived in Shanghai, so we lived with him after we got there. On the first day we went to a lot of interesting places, including Waitan and Huangpu Park.
The next few days were spent helping my sister find a job. We read many advertisements in newspapers. My sister failed in getting the first job because they said she was too young. Then we lost our way and couldn’t find the second company. We had a map but the city is so big, so we had to asked someone for help and finally found the second company. The boss had a talk with my sister and asked her to wait at home for their decision. A month later we went home. My sister couldn’t find a job in Shanghai because she was not knowledgeable enough or she didn’t have enough experience.
In this holiday we learned that if we want to succeed in life, we have to work hard and get a lot of knowledge.(约185字)

There has always been an argument between the young and the old about what kind of life to live-realistic or romantic. Young people tend to think real think that real lofe is as dramatic and fascimating as it is in the novels and movies while more experiened adults think this na?ve daydream is certain to be broken by later experiences and everyone should learn to get used to the dull routine of his everydy life.
However, there are some inadequacies in the opinions on the part of both sides. Life will be unimaginable if everything we do is only for realistic purpose, and the same is true if what we do everyday is just to enjoy ourselves. So it’s not difficult for us to see that neither way can ensure a happy life.
In my opinion, a real happy life can never be separated from either of the two ways. On the one hand, let’s enjoy life-enjoy the excitement of sports. On the other, let’s not forget our work. Happy life can never go without hard work.
There are four seasons in a first season is spring. In spring, almost everything comes back to life. There is no denying the fact that it has been a hotly debated topic whether students should attend military training in China in the past years. Opinions on this issue differ sharply. Some hold the positive view while others are strongly against it. Personally, I believe it is essential for students to attend military training.
First, to attend military training is a response to the call for a stronger national defense. Though we are in a relatively peaceful age, the danger of wars never really fades. Some Western powers have never given up their attempt to overturn Chinese government and subject China to their manipulation. Therefore, every Chinese should bear in mind his or her duty to guard the nation against invaders. Military training among students is the most direct means to instill such awareness and familiarize young people with life in the troop.
Secondly, military training serves as an effective way to temper young people’s willpower, develop their team-spirit and cultivate their sense of discipline. As a generation brought up in a peaceful and relatively well-off environment, youngsters today suffer a grave lack of willpower. Compared with previous generations, they are more prone to saying die in the face of difficulties or setbacks. Therefore, they can gain much through the trying drills of military training. Besides, the honor of a military group depends on the effort of each member, which calls for supreme team-spirit, which is another quality that many current young people lack as they are self-centered. Plus, perhaps there can be no other settings like the barrack that demands so much sense of discipline. In these senses, military training provides a perfect chance for those high-fed, coddled and even spoiled youngsters to learn life lessons.
Last but not least, military training supplies a chance to build up students’ bodies. Although most youngsters are enjoying a higher standard of living nowadays than their previous generations, their physical conditions are far from desirable.
Those against military training may be worried by the assumption that a sudden increase of intense physical exercise, especially during summer, may do harm to students’ health and they may cite as evidence the deaths of some students during military training in the past years. But I should point out that those deaths are absolutely exceptional cases and are perfect evidence that students need more such training.
To sum up, military training is not only a means to strengthen student’s physique and willpower, but also an effective way to enhance their sense of national defense and foster their patriotism. Though it proves too much for a few students, we should not give up eating for fear of choking. The only thing we need to do is to take measures to ensure that the least harm is done to the trainees.
My childhood was happy with my mother’s love 。In my young heart, my mother was strong and healthy and never got sick. She took me to the primary school and home every day. No matter when it’s rainy or windy.
But one day, after we got home from school, my mother went into the bedroom and stayed in bed. I didn’t know what had happened.

Haimen is a modern city. There are lots of high buildings in it. In the center of Haimen, there are many shops. You can buy some nice things here. Things in most shops aren’t expensive. You can pay a little money and they are yours.
My hometown is a beautiful city. On each of the roads, there are some big trees and nice flowers. The roads are also very clean. They make people happy and comfortable.

Is a sound social environment necessary for people to be good to others
Helping others has always been a virtue in traditional Chinese culture, but nowadays many people dare not offer help to those in need, for fear of getting into trouble. The issue has aroused public debate over the climate of morality and credibility, and many people sigh over the moral degeneration. In my opinion, while social environment is necessary for people to be good to others, each individual should try his or her best to do good deeds and be sympathetic with others, instead of waiting for the environment to improve.
There is no denying that some tragic events turn out to be traps by people with evil intentions, so people are becoming more risk-conscious and are more wary of traps and deceits. some people even wonder, ‘Is our society hostile to good people?’ The question may sound ridiculous but many people apparently think so. They believe that our current society provides a bad environment for good people doing good things, and good people pay a high price for being compassionate. In fact, such kind of things only accounts for a pretty small percentage, but massive media coverage makes the situation seem serious. Actually, most people around me are kind, warm-hearted and helpful, and I am quite delighted in their company. So I believe media should pay more attention to publicizing good people and exemplary deeds to enhance our confidence, rather than exposing disgusting behaviors.
At the same time, as John Donne puts it, “No man is an island, entire of itself. Every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.” Since everyone of us is a component of the society, it is each individual’s conducts that form social morality. Just imagine it is you who need help, what would you feel if everyone watches indifferently or suspiciously? So, put yourself in other’s position and be sympathetic. If we do nothing but wait for the environment to improve, nothing will happen. Only by removing the fence around our kind consciousness can we reverse the regress of social ethics, and make our world full of warmth and happiness. Therefore, if help is needed, never hesitate to lend a helping hand. It will make you happy and feel better about life.
In sum, I contend the idea that while social environment is necessary for people to be good to others, it is each individual’s responsibility to offer help to those in need, and together we build up a more harmonious society.
