Today our Chinese teacher taught us a song. We learnt fast but sang it too loudly. He also asked us to retell a story. Something like those is very interesting. hours passed quickly. Jessica gave us some pictures and asked us to write a story in 30 minutes, from one of the pictures. We discussed and finished it very well I think life here is becoming more and more interesting. At school we just learn grammar and do exercises in English classes, that’s really very boring. There will be a speaking competition on Saturday. I’m not willing to take part in it because I’m a little afraid of speaking before so many people. I have made a speech in junior middle school, I stood before 20_ students and felt very upset and nervous. Though I finished the speech, I don’t think my behavior was good. Maybe you think I need more practice, but I think I’m not good at speaking. I do better in writing than in speaking. I know I should be confident with myself, but I think I won’t speak very well in front of so many people. Even though I have learnt the article by heats when I stand on the stage. Today, my grandma came to visit us, because she missed me so much. I’m reading George Eliot’s works The Mill on the Floss & Adam Bede with great interest. The former at school and the latter at home. I have stayed in Shanghai alone for a week. It’s time for me to go to my real home—it is in Beijing. My parents are waiting for me. When I got home, it was very dark. Why? There is no electric. Every year in Beijing, there is lack of electric to supply. Because there are a lot of factories. And it is very cold in winter. So the government decided: supply electric to resident and the factories must stop working. My house is in the manufacturing district. I was unlucky. It was very cold. So my father use the electric making machine to make electric. Oh! What a unlucky winter!

It was cooler than yesterday. One of my father’s friends invited me to eat red bayberries. You must know it is unusual. Because we will climb the hill to eat red bayberries. But at night, I played computer with my brother. We saw an interesting movie. That talked about love and courage. That is a really very nice movie. And I really like that protagonist. She told me about friends and friendship. What a busy day I had!
